Our infrastructure supports the amount of growth we allow in our cities. This makes going to work, play, or traveling across the state a pleasant experience. NC operates on a balanced budget. That helps us maintain roads, bridges, etc., such that you arrive unfrazzled at your destination. Our major roads are well planned and kept in good repair. Day trips are easy within our state.
The Piedmont Triad International Airport is conveniently located in northwest Greensboro just north of Hwy I-40, within 15-20 minutes of Winston-Salem and High Point, 35 minutes of Burlington. If you are tired of long commutes and wasted time, get an address in Triad NC.
Easy access (within one hour) to more than five of the top hospitals in the nation makes our area a wonderful place for retirement, for families with special needs, or for families like yours who want quality medical care. Three of these are large university teaching hospitals: Duke Hospital in Durham (1 hour), NC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill (1 Hour), and Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem (less than an hour). You get the high quality medical care you need, both in our hospitals and many specialty treatment centers.
Our weather is seldom severe for more than a couple of days in a row, winter or summer. Traveling, gardening, and other outdoor activities are seldom affected by our weather. It may be uncomfortable for a few days, but seldom for prolonged periods - unlike some areas of the nation.
Our central location within the state gives us access to major recreation areas, beach and mountains, within four or five hours - or less. You can get off work at 5:00 PM and sleep at the beach or in the mountains that night. I know a great place at Myrtle Beach where you can stay for half price if you check in after 10:00 PM. (If you are interested, I'll tell you!)
With only a few hours travel, you can tour the finest gardens, visit the large Carowinds theme park near Charlotte, ride or ski with your boat on beautiful Lake Norman and other recreational lakes, or shop in some of the largest shopping malls in the state. Whatever you want to do, you can do it anywhere in the state in a reasonable amount of driving time.
