Two. The best part is Burlington's community-conscious neighborhoods - a place to live, a place to play. A house is a house, but a home involves community. There's always a place here to meet and greet your neighbors. Burlington is a city where neighbors know neighbors and "people count."
Three. Work some - play a lot, at the many neighborhood parks, community centers and recreation areas. I grew up in Burlington riding the 100-year-old restored carousel at Burlington City Park. It's my favorite. Kids of all ages can ride! (And let's not forget City Park's miniature train ride - my husband's personal choice.)
Four. Dream your own dreams. The good people of Burlington will support you! This is my niece's flower shop. She's a young woman and talented floral designer who, like many others, is following her dream of owning her own small business. She's doing marvelously, and we're all proud of her! Burlington has a small town flavor, and the local folks just love to help you make your dreams come true.
Five. Choose the life style for you in Alamance County. Live in town in Burlington and adjacent Graham. Choose a smaller town of Elon (surrounding the gorgeous campus of Elon University), Gibsonville, Mebane or Haw River. Or select one of the county communities - Alamance, Pleasant Grove, Hawfields, Snow Camp, Belmont, Whitsett, Swepsonville, Union Ridge. Each has its special charm. Live where you like, work how you like, enjoy what you like in beautiful Alamance County. And remember, you're a hop, skip and jump from the larger metropolitan areas when you need them!
